Just before the market exploded in Canada for hockey cards there was O-Pee-Chee and oddballs. In 1988 Esso gas stations put out a nifty set of “stickers” that were supposed to go into an album. The fronts were a combination of Hall Of Famers and current players all in full colour action shots. As many were of classic original 6’ers every team is not represented and you get multiple Leafs, Habs, Wings etc.
The backs were just the checklist and have a rough texture from the glue that was supposed to be wet and then stuck in the album.
The cards really stand out in hand and they are slightly smaller than regular size. My favourite has to be the Dryden. Check out that mask!
