75-76 OPC..one card closer..

Along with the the pursuit of the White Whale I have 2 active sets on the go. The 1977-78 OPC Hockey and the 1975-76 Set.

The most recent pick up was this Marcel Dionne 4th year card for a whopping 3 bucks. It shows the characteristic off-centreing that we have come to know and love from OPC sets of the era.

Marcel Dionne was very underated in my opinion. This card is the first of him in a Kings uniform. I think had he stayed in Detroit he would have gotten more press and exposure.

The Triple crown line of Dionne, Charlie Simmer and Dave Taylor was outstanding, but Kings teams just could not compete. All teams in this era were in the Shadow of the Canadians Dynasty, followed by the Islanders and then the Oilers. It was especially hard for Western teams to get any traction behind the Oilers & Jets in the early 80’s.

I love the look of these cards. Simple design front and back.
